A unique creative sanctuary for those exploring and strengthening their God-given talents.

Sew Hope Community Sewing Room is a social enterprise operated under Jacob's Ladder Ministries, a faith-based non-profit organization serving individuals impacted by incarceration.

Our mission is to serve the St. Louis community well by providing a unique gathering space that attracts women of all races and ages to share and learn from each other through the art of sewing, quilting, and crafting. We are community-minded and believe in using our skills to help others.

In addition to providing classes, workshops and workspace for sewers, quilters and crafters, we give back to the community through special initiatives through working with individuals who have been incarcerated.

Community Service Programs

Sewing Therapy Groups

We provide therapeutic sewing groups for women who have been impacted by the criminal justice system. Oftentimes those who have been incarcerated often experience loneliness, stigma, and isolation. Our sewing therapy groups are a great way for seasoned sewers to share their sewing expertise and provide positive support for women needing encouragement and support.

Sew Hope Entrepreneurship Program

We will provide sewing job training and employment program for women who are returning home from prison. This 16-week program will teach garment sewing skills and techniques along with entrepreneurial tools to launch their own sewing business.

“My sewing instructors have been so nice and patient toward me. I have really learned a lot in my class and I am so thankful for the opportunity to learn how to sew."
